He was a musician and singer of traditional Iranian music.
Shajarian is known among his fans as the “Master of Iranian Singing” and “Khosro of Iranian Singing”.
Many Iranians consider him the most important figure in Iranian music and one of the most important symbols of Iranian culture and music.
Shajarian also enjoys international fame.
Mohammad Reza Shajarian has received the Aga Khan Foundation’s God of Music Award and has also been nominated for a Grammy Award.
