Ali Akbar Dehkhoda

(1257 – 27 March 1955)

He was a prominent Iranian writer, philologist, politician, and poet. He is the author and founder of the Dehkhoda Dictionary. Dehkhoda is one of the most important figures in contemporary Persian culture and literature. The Dehkhoda Dictionary or Dehkhoda Dictionary is a comprehensive book containing the explanation and meaning of Persian language words. This dictionary is the largest and most important work of Ali Akbar Dehkhoda, on which he spent more than 40 years of his life. The Dehkhoda Dictionary also contains the meaning, interpretation, and historical explanation of a significant number of Arabic loanwords that have entered Persian. The Dehkhoda Dictionary includes a large part of the literary words of the Persian language, with their meaning and their use in poems.
