Haji Firuz or Khwaja Pirouz

He is a legendary figure in Iranian culture who, on the first day of each year, comes to the cities with Uncle Nowruz to announce the arrival of Nowruz to the people. He is a thin, dark-faced man, with a spindle hat, pointed horns, and a red robe. He comes to the streets with a drum and a drum, dancing, performing acrobatics, and singing percussion songs.
